Recipe Inspiration for Self Isolation

March 25, 2020 By kunara-michelle Leave a Comment

With the long road ahead for flattening the curve of the current COVID-19 pandemic, many of us are looking for some self isolation inspiration to cook nourishing, easy meals at home.
So – we’ve rounded up a few of our favourites to keep you going.

In this trying time, not all ingredients may be readily available, do what you can to substitute ingredients – it may lead to some experimenting, and it could even turn out better than the original! If your kids are at home with you, get them involved too. There’s lots to learn about measuring, multiplying and patience when it comes to cooking, and it might even encourage them to eat something new.

Onion, Rosemary & Feta Cornbread

This feta corn bread is so tasty, versatile and quick to whip up in under one hour. Get creative with the flavours using whatever you have at home!

Immune Boosting Chicken Soup

Packed to the brim with fresh nutritious ingredients to support a weakened system, we’ve also incorporated some Flannery’s favourites such as SuperFeast’s Mason’s Mushrooms and bone broth to give your stressed immune system a powerful KICK! As Hippocrates famously said, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

Gluten Free Apple Tea Cake

Old school cakes are just the best. A few memories, simple flavours and quality ingredients are what makes the best cakes. This recipe has it all!

Salmon, Spinach and Chickpea Pasta

This dairy free, creamy salmon and spinach pasta is filled with fibre, healthy fats, complex carbohydrates, protein and omega 3 fatty acids.

Honey and Carrot Sweet Bread

The earthy taste of carrot combined with some attitude from the all spice, and a little sweetness from honey, makes for a tasty loaf with a difference.

Bean and Beetroot Brownies

These beetroot brownies are packed with quality ingredients, the addition of beets and beans add valuable nutrients that are not usually present in the humble brownie.
