How to make your very own 1 mug molten Cacao Cake & why it’s a healthy treat!
Some days you just really, really, REALLY feel like a sweet treatie… And nothing else is gonna hit the spot! Instead of reaching for a tasty but totally processed and non-nutritious option, this quick recipe can be prepped up in less than 10 minutes. It’s packed with nutrient-dense ingredients that will nourish your body AND your tastebuds!
It’s gluten free, vegan and serves 1 – trust us, you won’t want to share!
- 4 tbsp gluten-free flour (self-raising)
- 3 tbsp rapadura sugar
- 3 tbsp ground cacao
- 3 walnuts, chopped
- 1 pinch of cinnamon & cayenne pepper
- ½ cup almond milk
- ¼ cup macadamia oil
- ¼ cup Kunara bulk dairy-free dark chocolate, chopped
- 6 raspberries
- 1 dash vanilla essence
Combine dry ingredients in a large coffee mug.
In a separate small bowl, whisk remaining liquid ingredients then combine with dry mixture and raspberries in the mug.
Place mug in a small oven proof dish filled with water (to a depth of about halfway up the mug). Bake for 50 minutes at a moderate oven. It will form quite a fudgy texture once cooked but should not be burned on top.
If desired, serve with yoghurt, cream, ice cream, coconut cream, melted chocolate, fresh berries… Any delicacy of your choice!
Where’s the Heath Factor?
In the cacao and raspberries (high antioxidants), walnuts (packed with healthy omega fats and protein), macadamia oil (beautiful healthy fats) and almond milk (containing trace minerals).
