It can be difficult to find snacks that keep the kids happy and healthy, the challenge becomes especially hard over the school holidays when they open the pantry every five minutes followed by the words ‘mum! I’m hungry what can I eat?’. Keeping things fun and interesting for them can be tricky yet we have some great options to satisfy the hungriest of kids.
BULK WHOLEFOODS
Shop some delicious nuts, pasteli bars, paleo muesli, dried mango and more from our bulk wholefoods and add them into clear glass jars nicely displayed in the pantry. The kids will love it and begin to reach for these healthier snacks when looking for something to munch on.
SEA SHANTI SEAWEED CRISPS
Seaweed crisps are a great alternative to potato chips. They are packed with iodine, an essential nutrient for growing brains.
#NUTFREE BANANA MUFFIN
I have a recipe that takes 20 minutes to make. Just blend all the ingredients in a blender or food processor and pour into greased muffin tins. Bake for 15 mins!
3 ripe bananas
2 free range eggs
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp cinnamon
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 cup coconut flour.
JIMALIE COCONUT WRAPS
These wraps are so versatile for both sweet and savoury snacks. My favourite wrap combinations are blueberries and tahini or shredded chicken, lettuce and mashed avo.
HONEST POP PROBIOTIC POPCORN
A fun take on regular popcorn with the added benefit of probiotics making them a great addition to have as a pantry staple product.
